Helping you take the next step towards a fully recovered life.

Full recovery from an eating disorder is not only possible but worth every step of the way!

Who I am

My name is Annalisa Di Pietro and I am a Certified Eating Disorder Coach at the Carolyn Costin Institute.

Having personally suffered from eating disorders for over a decade, I know how painful, daunting, and disheartening recovery can be.

My healing journey took a turn when I started working with a coach and therapist who had suffered from eating disorders herself. Feeling understood and validated in what I was going through and being supported on the practical aspects of behaviour change have played a significant role in my recovery. They gave me hope. One step at a time, I fully recovered.

A few years ago, deeply grateful for my life, rich and filled with freedom, I felt a strong calling to give back. This led me to join the rigorous Carolyn Costin Institute's Eating Disorder Coach Training Certification Programme, which allowed me to combine a strong set of coaching skills with my personal experience.

Here I am, committed to supporting those suffering from eating disorders and giving hope that full recovery is not only possible but worth every step of the way!

What Eating Disorder Recovery Coaching is about

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you know you need to make a change, but then struggle to actually do it? Have you tried to stop your disordered eating or eating disorder behaviours, but found it impossible to succeed? Perhaps you have made several attempts and now you feel stuck and hopeless. Goals may be clear in your head, yet very difficult to achieve in your everyday life. Changing behaviours is hard, but here a coach can come into play. A coach can provide support with the practical aspects of recovery and help you change behaviours in your everyday situations. A coach is not equipped to provide any diagnosis or treatment for psychological issues or discuss why you have developed an eating disorder - that’s the therapist’s territory - but can help you navigate the “here and now”. A coach offers exposure and response prevention, a crucial aspect of treatment, and can provide you with opportunities to practice implementing your meal plan, eating out, attending events, grocery shopping and even clothes shopping (while building your own skills to learn to do it yourself). These are all things that therapists or other licensed professionals may find difficult to do or may not have time to do.

Coaches fill that gap!

Working together will help you

  • Accomplish your recovery treatment goals - I can be in the “trenches” with you

  • Challenge eating disorder thoughts and help you rewire your brain

  • Develop new healthy coping skills to navigate difficult feelings and emotions

  • Heal negative body image and redirect your efforts and attention to what brings purpose and meaning to your life

  • Eat meals and fear foods when you feel ready and gradually become a “conscious eater”

  • Develop a healthy relationship with exercise (intuitive momevement)

How I can work with you

Depending on your treatment goals, specific needs, and stage of recovery, I can tailor our coaching sessions.

We can do activities you find challenging and triggering together, and by setting achievable goals, enable you to tap into your own resources to navigate difficult situations.

I provide online and in-person one-to-one coaching sessions, along with scheduled between-session text support.

In person sessions are held in Dublin, Ireland.
